Martin is a true lover of nature. Every detail - from wild flowers of Spring to the fresh crisp snow covering a muddy track - is a constant source of inspiration. Each season in the countryside has a unique beauty, which Martin faithfully represents. The artist achieves his highly detailed, naturalistic style by totally immersing himself in the subject - painting what he sees in front of him, en plein air (even in midwinter!). He works from the same spot in a chosen area of landscape for weeks at a time - hence the intensity focused nature of his work. Martin\'s preliminary drawings are of a quality that stand as works in their own right. The finished paintings are worked in water colour, with some acrylic for the sharper details.
