Here we are already towards the end of July, and a time to reflect over the past 39 years of pure joy working in the Art Industry. As I approach a very big Birthday, it is a good time to look back at all the wonderfully talented and innovative people who have passed through our gallery, and since the Gallery closed in 2008, on to international art fairs with us. Every artist we have represented over the 39 years has been a delight to work for, and to promote. Although I miss the old Slaughterhouse in Pinner, the past years have given me time to take my wonderful artists to Art Fairs Internationally. Most importantly it has given me time to mix work with precious time with our six grandchildren. Jacob (our eldest) now exhibits and curates BANG – Blackstone Art Next Generation annually at the Spring AAF in Battersea Park. We are so very proud or our talented and innovative Grandson and look forward to following his journey in the Art World! …

Latest from the Blog
We are delighted to welcome Chloe McCarrick to our team of talented and innovative artists. Chloe is an internationally recognised fine art photographer and mixed-media printmaker. From her London studio and darkroom, she creates bespoke, original and limited edition prints and gifts.
Best known for her circular cyanotypes, Chloe embraces and develops innovative ways of reworking photographic images through collage and mixed-media print techniques, and by blending science, darkroom alchemy and art.
“I hope people are empowered by the story behind each piece and that the subject matter ignites imaginations and a curiosity to delve deeper.”
The work explores the boundless possibilities of image production in the age of modern printmaking with an aim to reinvent, recycle, redefine, experiment and preserve.
Female empowerment, natural history and science are recurring themes across the work, constructing visual narratives from the lives of extraordinary, trailblazing women – celebrating their achievements, uncovering their struggles and telling the stories of these often unsung heroes.
“The key emotion is to feel connected – connected to the story, the techniques and the science behind the work, and to be connected to the elements of nature I introduce to explore human experience and the relationship between each of us, and the world we live in.”
Chloe McCarrick regularly exhibits internationally, appearing at the prestigious Salon De Beaux Arts in Paris, The Affordable Art Fair in London and New York, and The Other Art Fair, curated by Saatchi Art, in London and Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas.…
Fiona Parkinson Joins our Team of Innovative Artists
We are delighted to announce that Fiona Parkinson is joining our team of innovative artists this Spring.
Fiona’s childhood took her from Yorkshire to South Africa and back again to an unsettled life on the North East coast of England. Throughout this upbringing, her interest in expressing herself through art became a constant, may be even a requirement, and as soon as she was able, she continued to explore this passion in further education.
She graduated in 2015 with a first class Batchelor’s degree and was then awarded a Master’s degree with distinction whilst collecting the College of Arts Award at Lincoln University. She has exhibited across the UK, Europe and US and has been featured by the media, appearing a number of times on BBC radio.
Her art diverged from what may be considered more mainstream techniques early in her studies with a chance introduction to butterflies.
Since graduating and moving to her studio in Stratford on Avon her work has continued to explore contradictions in our experience of the world including beauty and fragility, fear and love, and life and death. Her unique techniques fuse modern technology with ancient methods to producing striking images which evoke fascination and emotion in equal measure.
ARTISTS STATEMENT
“My techniques combine traditional methods of preservation with modern tools and technology to create beautiful pieces of artwork that can equally inspire emotion and wonder. Given the variation in every specimen, each piece is unique and is hand crafted by me in my studio or the lab.
I would …

STOP PRESS: “B A N G” – B lackstone A rt N ext G eneration – is born!!
2022 is a landmark year for our Gallery. After 36 years passionately promoting contemporary artists, I am so delighted to welcome our eldest Grandchild JACOB TALBOT. Jacob recently Graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art Photography from the prestigious Leeds Arts University. During his time at University he not only studied Photography but also, due to the Pandemic restrictions, taught himself to sculpt, make his own moulds and cast his work, plus the art of welding metals and loads more self-taught accomplishments. Jacob shares a Studio in Leeds with other young highly talented artists. With my encouragement, he has been inspired to create B A N G – Blackstone Art Next Generation, a totally separate venture for our Gallery. His aim is to bring these amazing artists into the Public Eye while still pursuing his own career as a Fine Art Photographer. Since the age of 13 (apart from school commitments!) Jacob and I have worked together at International Art Fairs. All who have met him during this time have voiced admiration for his warm friendly nature and terrific work ethic. “Welcome Jacob”.

AUGUST UPDATE
Due to the ongoing Covid19 Pandemic, we have just been informed by the Affordable Art Fair Team that both the Autumn Fair in Battersea Park and the re-scheduled Fair on Hampstead Heath have now both been totally cancelled for 2020. We are devastated for all our wonderful artists as, apart from our website, we promote their wonderful art at 8 International Art Fairs each year. So far the only Fair that has taken place was in Battersea Park mid-March just before “Lockdown”. As expected, the Fair was not well attended and all exhibitors were extremely nervous about catching something!!
Please do keep visiting our website for new work by our wonderful artists and for news of future Art Fairs! Hopefully by next year we will have a vaccine to enable us all to return to an almost “normal” life! Best wishes to you all. Linda…

KEN PAINE 1926 – 2020
It is with great sadness that I have to announce that on 9 June a very special man and a brilliant artist passed away. My Gallery has been associated with Ken Paine PS SPF for well over 30 years. During that time, apart from working together, Ken became a very good friend and a positive influence in my Art World career. One of the highlights of our time together was my organising and presenting his 80th Birthday Party at the Arts Club in Dover Street, London. Many dignitaries attended this memorable occasion.
Ken’s soulful portraits will live on, and his sharp whit and forthright thinking will never be forgotten. Be at rest my dear friend. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his partner and artist Penelope Lee.
There are two books available covering the life and works of Ken Paine: “Ken Paine – His Life and Work” by Michael Simonow and “Nowhere to Hide” by Penelope Lee 2014
Stay safe and stay well!!!
Best wishes Linda

TOWARDS AUTUMN 2024
As we enter our 40th year as a Gallery we now look forward to exhibiting, in October, at the very special 25th Anniversary Art Fair of THE AFFORDABLE ART FAIR, founded by the inspirational Will Ramsay. We are so proud to have been associated with this “Cool Brand” since its very first Art Fair in London in Autumn 1999! Then on to AAF Singapore in November – our annual pilgrimage. In December we are putting our “toe in the water” for the first time to promote our artists at an International Luxury Cruise Ship Exhibition at the Excel Centre in London. We hope that interior designers will fall in love with our artists, whose works would all look amazing on the walls or floors of luxury cruise ships.…
