“As a painter of people, places and things (portraits, landscapes & still life) my work encompasses a rich variety of subject matters and mediums – primarily watercolour and gouache. I enjoy the unpredictability of these water-based mediums while still maintaining a high degree of control.
In drafting my floral still life arrangements, I aim to create an immersive experience for the viewer. I invite viewers to take a visual journey with me where you will encounter paintings shaped by patience and precision, through the use of intricate details and dynamic perspectives. You will engage with light and rich vibrant colours that has been quietly built up to illustrate deeply realistic imagery. My paintings are about emotion, colour and composition, so I ask the viewer to step into the scene: to pause, to pay attention and to look again so they feel as if they have been transported.
Originally from Jamaica, I emigrated to the United States as a pre-teen where I earned a Master of Science degree in Geology. Six years ago, I transitioned from the energy sector and as a self-taught artist, I rely heavily on an intuitive approach. My art celebrates everyday moments, finding interest in what might otherwise be overlooked, and my aim is to convey life in still life paintings.”
Tracy has been the recipient of several awards at various exhibitions, including Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour 2026, Broadway Arts Festival 2026, The Artist and Leisure Painter, in addition to being featured in magazines and books, notably “Splash 26 – Best in Watercolour” and “Drawing and Painting” by Kate Wilson.
