The Artists

SPRING IS JUST ROUND THE CORNER!

With the wind howling and the snow and rain falling outside, our artists have been busy producing some amazing new work in readiness for our upcoming exhibitions to herald the Spring!

A few weeks ago Mat Barber Kennedy RI flew over from the USA to deliver new work and then flew home to Chicago on the next plane out! That is dedication! What an amazing guy.

The Spring Edition of the Affordable Art Fair takes place from 11 - 14 March. Visit us on our usual Stand J12 in Battersea Park, London and view new work by Mat Barber Kennedy, Anne Marie Butlin, Louise & Colin Hawkins, Paul Kavanagh, Colin Kent, Judy Linnell, Susan Macarthur, Ian Mastin, Steven Outram, J Richard Plincke, Colin Slee, Jacquie Turner and Andy Waite. All my artists are now busy at work to ensure that there are many tempting works of art for you to fall in love with and want to take home with you!

Rosie and I are very excited that in May we will be flying to New York to exhibit our artist’s work at the New York Affordable Art Fair at 7W New York, an exhibition centre on 34th & 5th right in the heart of Manhatton. The Art Fair runs from 5-9 May. Once we know our stand number and more details on the Fair I will update this blog! We last exhibited in New York at the very first AAF New York back in 2002.

Don’t forget that if you need any expert framing or restoration work done or if you would like to visit the studio to view work now in stock just pick up the phone and make an appointment to come to view at your convenience.

If  you would like tickets for the London or New York Art Fairs please contact me!

Looking forward to seeing you all over the coming months.

OVERVIEW OF THE LAST THREE MONTHS

The gallery commenced its 25th year with our annual show at the Royal Hospital Chelsea from 8-12 October. Our Stand at Art London was well received by all those who visited and many left with beautiful new works of art by our talented artists.

Then on to the much awaited 10th Anniversary Exhibition of The Affordable Art Fair in Battersea Park, London, from 22-25 October. Over 22,000 visitors attended the fair over four days and our artists impressed the vast audience and many works of art went home with very satisfied customers. Thanks to all those who visited our stand and appreciated and bought our talented artists works.

The day after AAF London we flew to Amsterdam for the Amsterdam Affordable Art Fair. Our artists work was greatly admired by our friends from Holland and many works of art stayed in Holland when we left for London! After working hard at the Fair Rosie and I went on a canal trip and admired the amazing architecture of Amsterdam. We also visited the Anne Frank House which was a very moving experience for us both.

8 - 21 November 2009 - New Works by Davy Brown

The long awaited solo exhibition by our Scottish Colourist - Davy Brown was held in our old gallery space in Pinner. The gallery was full of colour. It was a show not to be missed. Catalogues are still available on request or you can still view the whole exhibition on Davy’s page on this website. Better still, come and view his work at our studio in Rickmansworth by appointment.

“OPEN STUDIOS” November 2009

We held two open studio weekends in our studio in Loudwater, Rickmansworth. Despite the atrocious weather many of our patrons braved the elements and came to view our huge stock in a very small space! They browsed for that very special, painting, sculpture, piece of glass, ceramic or divine jewelley for that very special seasonal gift.

I look forward to welcoming you to our Studio in Rickmansworth very soon. Just email or phone to arrange an appointment and I will forward you full directions to the gallery, kindly and artistically drawn by our very own J Richard Plincke RI!!

Our 2010 Programme is being prepared and we look forward to meeting you all at The Affordable Art Fair next March or in our studio in Rickmansworth.

Wishing you all a very Happy Festive Season and a healthy and enjoyable 2010.
