Eleanor Dunn
Eleanor Dunn
Eleanor Dunn is a photorealist pencil artist, producing detailed monochrome drawings that reflect on the ideas of intimacy and connection. Exploring the depths of graphite’s capacity, Eleanor uses the medium of drawing to look closer at the people and relationships around her. The drawings often fit to rigid square boundaries, meaning each piece acts as a window into the vulnerable side of her muses. In capturing such acutely sensitive facets of people, the drawings evoke a weight and wonder in what it means to be intimate with others.
The artist lives and works in Leeds, since graduating from Leeds University with a 1st in Fine Art in 2021.
In 2023 Eleanor starred in the 10th series of Sky Portrait Artist of the Year to public acclaim. Previously, she also exhibited in the RBA Rising Stars Exhibition as part of the shortlist for the Rome Scholarship. The artist has sold work internationally and continues to sell her work to a widening audience of buyers.
Prizes
November 2023 – The Mervyn Metcalf Purchase Prize – the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London. This was the second year in succession Eleanor was selected and her work hung in the Discerning Eye Exhibition.
