J Richard Plincke was born in Woldingham, Surrey in 1928. He studied architecture at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London.
The artist was elected a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours in 1984 and has recently been elected a signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
He has been the recipient of many awards including the St. Cuthbert's Mill Water Colour Prize at the Royal West of England Academy, the Pebes Prize at the Federation of Canadian Artists, Vancouver, and the Harrison Prize at the Federation of Canadian Artists.
Richard has exhibited for many years at the Royal West of England Academy, the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Royal Society of Marine Artists, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Pastel Society. His work has been accepted and hung at the Singer & Friedlander Art Awards Exhibitions, the Discerning Eye Exhbition and the Hunting Group Art Award Exhibitions. He has also regularly exhibited in many galleries in the UK, USA and Canada, and has been a regular exhibitor at the Linda Blackstone Gallery since 1988. His work is to be found in many private and public collections.
