Colin Kent was born in London in 1934. He qualified and worked as an architect for a number of years. In the 70\'s he turned to full time painting and concentrated on landscape paintings evoking a strong sense of atmosphere with his view of solitary farmhouses, coastlines and jetties inspired by the East Anglian landscape.
Now he has taken this a stage further adding a new dimension, which results in a more abstract interpretation of a landscape or still life. A dimension dependant on mood, atmosphere, light and tone rather tan form or line. His work has become textured and layered in order to create depth and a sense of space. This is achieved through the use of a variety of mixed media, including ink, gouache, acrylic and water colour finished in glazes.
